Do you have a smile that is marred by missing or damaged teeth? If so, there is no reason to live with an imperfect smile if you don’t want to. Our dentist, Robert Cuckler, DDS, can perform many different procedures that will replace your damaged teeth and restore your smile. Our Homestead cosmetic dentist would be very happy to meet with you and let you know what exactly can be done in your particular situation.
There are several different ways to replace damaged teeth and restore your smile, including dental veneers, porcelain crowns and dental bridges. Dental veneers are a cost-effective way to correct damaged teeth, and to restore your beautiful smile. Dental veneers are made of porcelain. They are made to cover just the front of the tooth. They do not add any strength or functionality to the tooth, and have a purely cosmetic function. Porcelain veneers are very attractive and are actually cemented to the front of the tooth. A bit of tooth enamel is usually removed during this process, so it is important that this is done by a skilled Homestead cosmetic dentist like our Dr. Cuckler. Porcelain veneers can correct many smile problems including: short teeth; uneven gaps between teeth; teeth with chips or cracks in the enamel; misshapen teeth; or teeth that are discolored and cannot be whitened using conventional dental whitening methods.
IF you have a tooth that is damaged, and needs to be strengthened, then you are a perfect candidate for a dental crown. They are used not only to make a tooth look better, but also to provide the tooth with more strength and functionality. Dental crowns are made of porcelain and are color matched to the existing adjacent teeth. Crowns are perfectly comfortable, and impossible to detect in the mouth. They will not interfere with your speech, and you will be able to eat anything you desire. Porcelain crowns can be used to restore a tooth that is cracked or damaged, has just undergone root canal therapy, or even as the top portion to a dental implant. Unlike veneers, crowns are made to cover the entire tooth on all four sides. They also are used to cover teeth that are discolored and cannot be whitened by conventional methods.
